Sacramento Forklift Parts
Sacramento is located in the northern part of Central Valley at the point where the Sacramento River and the American River meet. It is the capital of California as well as the county seat of Sacramento County. The city is the seventh largest city in California with a population of approximately 466 676. Out of all the different communities in the county, Sacramento was ranked the most culturally and economically diverse in 2002 by Time magazine.
Sacramento is commonly known as the “River City” because of its location near the confluence of the Sacramento River and the American River. Rafters, boaters, and kayakers come from around the world to dip into the famous waters. As well, the stunning 23 mile American River Parkway attracts bicyclists, runners, and walkers to enjoy the picturesque scenery.
A 43-mile channel through the Sacramento River Delta connects Sacramento’s deepwater port to the San Francisco Bay. The deep water is used for both international shipping as well as pleasure trips to the Bay. The major shipping and rail center, which carries fruit, vegetables, rice, wheat, dairy, and beef products for the entire Sacramento Valley area is also located here.
In Old Sacramento you can find an assortment of Gold Rush era treasures, such as the paddlewheel steamboat “Delta King”.
Food processing is a major industry in Sacramento. Sacramento also hires about 25% of all of California’s 471 000 government employees. Other popular industries that are here are in construction, health services and research, higher education, information tech, leisure and hospitality, professional and business services, and transportation.
The city has a very temperate climate with an annual temperature average of 61.1 °F. It was cool winters, which range from 45.8 °F in December to 75.4 °F in July. The summers are generally hot and dry, but the heat is tempered by the “delta breeze”, which comes from the San Francisco Bay.
